Well, I’ll be glad to spill the beans about my new books in progress.

I’ve started writing a series called Globetrotters (WIP name, anyway, still may change). This series is about a hotel critic named Calyx Black, an arrogant, cranky man (think of him as the Gordon Ramsey of hotel inspectors) who travels around the world bringing his particular brand of harsh and often rude observations to nervous hotel owners. He’s accompanied on his journeys by his long-suffering Financial Assistant and general factotum, Ethan St John. It’s a tale of enemies to lovers because Calyx can be a real bastard and fights his attraction to Ethan every step of the way. However, Ethan is tougher than he looks, and he can give just as well as he can take. And if that isn’t a double entendre, then I don’t know what is 😊

The series so far is planned to be three books, the first one taking place in Transylvania, Romania and deals with a subject that in today’s modern world of plans to save the planet is very relevant. #lipsnowsealed

But wait! There’s more…

I’m also kinda cloning myself, in that I’ve decided to re-create another Susan (poor you) in the form of nom de plume Susan Mac Nicol writing as S M Nicol, where I’ll be writing urban fantasy and adventure.

There will be some romance elements, because why the hell not, but they won’t be mainstream, and the focus will be on the adventure and growth of my fantasy world with characters you’ll grow to love. I’ll give you a little taste of what it’s about.

A mysterious village appears amid a great storm in the Scottish Highlands. A contemporary re-telling of the classic story of Brigadoon, Glengáill is a sweeping tale of extraordinary people, in a fantastical place. Book 1 in the Hidden Veil series, these characters will delight you with their humanity, their road to fulfilment and of course, their bravery against those who would seek them out to destroy them.

I’d like to think this book will have everything you’d enjoy – romance, treachery, violence, redemption, angst, humour, quirkiness and a load of conflict. In bringing my unique vision to this tale, I hope to make you close the book, all starry eyed, and say ‘I can’t wait for the next one.”

If you do, my aim will have been achieved.
